“Time’s Ghost.”
I’m posting lots of last year (or the year before)’s work because I’m in the process of producing a prodigious panoply of painted pieces.  Sorry for the consonance, it kinda pours out that way sometimes.  I blame too many Victorian children’s books.  Anyway, this piece is all about the anxiety and perceived loss of time passing.  Which I am currently having.  Man, it seems like there is never enough time.  Time’s Ghost for me is the spectre of things left undone, ambitions not yet realized.
And lest I sound too philosophical, here’s a link to where you can buy the print on etsy!  Yay, commerce!

Sometimes crying or laughing are the only options left, and laughing feels better right now.

I was on a book panel review show, talking about The Hunger Games & The Room. It’d be cool if you watched it!

Appearance at Northwest Bookfest 2012

kristinhalbrook:

Will you be in the Northwest in late September? Join me and many wonderful fellow authors at Northwest Bookfest, held in Kirkland, Washington from September 22-23. I’ll be presenting on Sunday, the 23rd on writing realistic YA:

Northwest YA Genre Profile #1: I Think I Am, I Know I Am Grungy Hipster Boy Next Door
Join Seattle-area young adult authors of contemporary and historical realism for an entertaining and enlightening discussion about the current state of realistic YA, what it takes to write and get published in this tricky market (and in the rain) and how “issue” books can be FUN (hint: there’s freebies)!
Panelists: Megan Bostic, J. Anderson Coats, Carole Estby Dagg, Kristin Halbrook, Stasia Kehoe, and Helen Landalf

We won’t be able to make it, but have fun! Sounds like an awesome panel.
